IHCC and ICCC Divide One-Run Games

Fort Dodge, IA -- In a pair of games that each ended in a 5-4 score, Indian Hills won one and lost one against Iowa Central CC on Wednesday.

The Falcons' Alsis Herrera preserved the game one win by retiring three straight hitters after Iowa Central had scored a run to cut the IHCC lead to 5-4.  Indian Hills had broken a 3-all tie in the 6th when Darryl Velez and Caleb Ratzman had back-to-back run-scoring singles.

Ratzman walked and scored in both the 1st and 3rd innings.  Taylor Ostrich had an RBI-single in the 3rd and Joel Booker brought Ostrich home with a double.

Matt Lashlee went the first four innings for IHCC and Herrera the next three with the lefty Herrera getting the win.

In the nightcap, Iowa Central tied the game with a run in the bottom of the 7th and won it with a run in the 8th.

A four-run 4th gave the Falcons a 4-1 lead.  Edgar Lebron's three-run HR was the big blow in the inning.  Ratzman singled home the other run.

Jordan Berry and Juan Figueroa had two hits each.

Indian Hills (22-15) is back on the road Thursday for a doubleheader at Ellsworth CC in Iowa Falls.
