Falcons Pick Up Two Wins

Centerville -- Five Indian Hills pitchers limited visiting North Central (Mo.) to only five hits as the Falcons swept a doubleheader from the Pirates Tuesday, IHCC winning 6-2 and 10-0 in five innings.

Second-game starter Alsis Herrera allowed only a 3rd inning double by Michael Babbit in a three-inning stint and Matt Lashlee followed with two hitless innings as the Falcons completed the sweep.

Indian Hills (17-14) got the scoring started with a six-run first inning.  Taylor Ostrich, Zach Sims and Juan Figueroa all had RBI singles and Kevin Valera drove in two runs with a single as 11 men went to the plate.  Three more runs scored in the 5th, the last two on a single by Joel Booker that ended the game with the 10-run rule.

Sims and Edgar Lebron each had two hits and Sims and Tyler Hermann scored two runs each.

Lebron's two-run single in the 2nd inning got the scoring underway in the first game.  The Falcons only had six hits but took advantage of five hit batsmen and two walks.  Junior Santos' two-run single in the 6th capped the win.  Santos had two hits and Adam Deneke and Kevin Cicali scored two runs apiece.

Three IHCC pitchers -- Jose Marin, Marcco Lovato and Derek Kawlewski -- combined to allow four hits while striking out 10.  Marin started and got the win, fanning five in his three innings of work.
