Falcons Blast Panthers

Centerville -- Indian Hills spotted visiting Ellsworth CC an early lead and then came back to down the Panthers 11-5 at Pat Daugherty Field on Wednesday.

IHCC snapped a 5-all tie on Tyler Hermann's run-scoring single in the 7th and then got plenty of insurance in the 8th when the Falcons batted around and tallied five runs.  Doubles by Junior Santos, Jordan Berry and Dario Polanco keyed the 8th inning-uprising.

Santos, Berry and Hermann all had three-hit games for IHCC -- Santos and Berry each doubled twice -- and Caleb Ratzman had a pair of singles in a 14-hit attack.  Five different players had two RBIs.

The Falcons got a strong relief effort from Matt Lashlee, who went the final three innings and allowed only one baserunner while fanning four to pick up the victory.

Jake Stalzer started for Indian Hills and permitted only two hits and one earned run in three innings with six Ks.

Indian Hills will take on Southwestern for the second time in three days when the Spartans visit Centerville on Thursday.
