Indian Hills Slugs Its Way to Another Win

Phoenix, AZ -- Indian Hills capped its trip to the Phoenix area with another strong offensive effort, collecting a season-high 18 hits and thrashing Phoenix CC 11-3 on Saturday.  The win was the third in a row for the Falcons who improved their season record to 4-6.

The 18 hits amassed by the Falcons gave them 85 over the past six games in Arizona, an average of over 14 per game.

Adam Deneke and Joel Booker led the hit parade with three apiece.  Taylor Ostrich, Jordan Berry, Kevin Cicali, Juan Figueroa and Caleb Ratzman all had two hits.

Deneke had a three-run homer in a five-run 5th inning and Berry chipped in a two-run single in the 7th.

A pair of freshmen, Christian Torres and Derek Kawlewski, took care of things on the mound for the Falcons.  Torres went the first 5 2/3 innings and Kawlewski the final 3 1/3.  They gave up 10 hits, but only three runs.

The Falcons' five runs in the 5th snapped a 1-all tie and they added five more runs in the next two frames.

Indian Hills headed back home hoping for some good weather with the Falcons slated to play 10 games at Pat Daugherty Field to end the month of March.  The home opener is March 21 against Ellsworth CC.
