Streak is Over as Falcons Rip North Central

Centerville -- Indian Hills snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 11-1 rout of North Central Missouri at Pat Daugherty Field on Wednesday.

The Falcons turned around their fortunes of late, thanks to two big innings and solid pitching by three hurlers.

Starter Matt Cook took a no-hitter into the 5th inning and was lifted after allowing his only hit. He was charged with the lone Pirates' run and struck out three while walking only one. Relievers Shaun Dean and Adam Peters finished up. Dean gave up two hits in 1 2/3 innings and Peters fanned two in his only inning.

The IHCC offense got started right away with hits by the first four batters in the lineup. Guillermo Cruz, Adam Coleman and Yuliecer Arias had consecutive singles and Mitch Osnowitz tripled. Osnowitz's hit scored Arias and Kelvin Brito drove in Osnowitz with a sacrifice fly to make it a four-run inning.

Coleman, who went 5-for-5 on the day, singled home David Kroger, who had drawn a leadoff walk, in the 2nd.

The Falcons erupted for five runs in the 6th. There were six hits in the inning including a two-run triple by Coleton Wilson and Coleman's second of two doubles.

Coleman then ended the game in the bottom of the 7th with a solo home run.

Indian Hills will host Southeastern CC in one nine-inning game on Thursday.
